Those of us who read Brave New World, from Aldous Huxley, have this mental image of soma in our minds.
Soma was, in the fiction novel, this drug people recurred to when their levels of superficial happiness were not where they should be.
Each person had a prescription or the right amount of Soma. Not more, not less than prescribed to each one of them according to their needs.
It is only recently that a new drug, also called soma, has flooded the online world by offering online sales.
In our mind however, soma will always be that drug from the fiction novel that Huxley imagined.
